The three masts of La Corvette have joined forces with Mathieu Claveau, a skipper and engineer from Marseilles, to embark with him and his team on board a Class 40 during the Rolex Fastnet Race which took place last August. The Savonnerie du Midi, with its La Corvette range, is proud to be a partner of this committed Marseilles skipper. On the occasion of this human challenge, we decided to unite our marine universes in this beautiful adventure.
The race started in Cowes, a port on the Isle of Wight. The boats then continued their race towards the south coast of England following Devon and Cornwall.
Thanks to Mathieu and his crew, a small part of Marseille and its Mediterranean heritage have left to discover the English Channel!
Here is Mathieu's feedback on his experience, a few days after his race:
"It was a challenge for me to race with a large crew. I am used to double-handed races. We didn't know each other very well, which can be stressful at the start of a race, but in the end it went really well! It was also a big challenge for Camille, our MediaWoman, who had never sailed before. We are very happy with our performance. We enjoyed sharing the beautiful images with you. Thank you for supporting us and following us throughout the race, it makes us very happy. The boat is leaving again for the next 24 hour race in St Malo, in mid-September. Thank you and see you soon to sail to new adventures".
Mathieu Claveau
With this partnership, La Corvette is anchored even more firmly in its maritime universe and is opening up to the world, just like its home port, Marseille...
